The Chicago Lighthouse is a world-renowned social service organization serving the blind, visually impaired, disabled and Veteran communities. Recognized as a pioneer in innovation since 1906, they provide vision rehabilitation services, education, employment opportunities and assistive technology for people of all ages. The Chicago Lighthouse annually puts together a house and garden tour to showcase beautiful homes and gardens for a great cause. Each year five homes (typically residing on the shores of Lake Michigan) are selected for the tour and guests are welcomed into each of these and invited to discover and learn more about the different pieces of artwork and furniture featured in each of the homes.
GCG sent a team to assist in guiding the House & Garden Walk this year. Being the 30th anniversary of the walk, the homes saw nearly 400 visitors to their halls.
This year the event was able to raise $80,000 toward aiding visually impaired individuals.
