October 4th turned out to be a perfect day for a 5K! For the first time in GCG’s 5K history, all runners and walkers participated in support of conquering cancer. With 50 walkers, 34 volunteers and 23 runners, GCG managed to raise over $5,000!
All of the money raised was donated to Cycle for Survival, an organization that creatively uses biking to raise money for rare cancer research. In fact, the 5K helped GCG to surpass $200,000 in total donations to Cycle for Survival. You can learn more about cycle for survival by clicking here.
After crossing the finish line and eating delicious food, all participants heard three GCG employees share their incredible stories about conquering breast cancer and colon cancer.
Each individual that shared would like to emphasize the importance of scheduling your colonoscopies and mammograms when they are due to increase your chances of preventing or fighting off serious health conditions like cancer.
It was a blast to run and walk together to support this important cause!
