The Northern Illinois Food Bank is a nonprofit organization associated with Feeding America that provides food for over 71,000 people each week within its 13-county service area, dedicated to the goal of solving hunger. The Food Bank was started in 1983 by Sister Rosemarie Burian, and has only grown to provide more food to the community ever since. Northern Illinois Food Bank has a network of 800 different pantries, soup kitchens, youth and senior centers, as well as other programs to reach the hungry.
On Tuesday, Dec. 8, the GCG Oakbrook office visited the Northern Illinois Food Bank to pack meals for the hungry.
