LUNGevity is the leading lung cancer nonprofit in the nation. They are dedicated to strategic investment in the field of research, working tirelessly to dramatically improve the current 17% five-year survival rate. The original LUNGevity foundation was founded in 2001 by seven people all diagnosed with lung cancer. Their vision was to find a cure. Today’s LUNGevity foundation was born in 2010 when LUNGevity and Protect Your Lungs (another organization focused on Lung cancer research) joined forces.
Created to raise awareness and crucial funding for lung cancer research, Breathe Deep North Shore is a 5k Fun Run, walk and memorial balloon launch.
On April 17, The GCG team was honored to be able to help this very worthy cause by arriving early in the morning to set up the vendor tables and check-in station, organize t-shirts for the participants as well as help carry in fruit donated by Whole Foods.
The event raised over $200,000 dollars; another dent in the lung cancer research fund.
