GCG Serves at Arlington National Cemetery

John Fisher, Vice President, Wealth Management, joined forces with the Illinois Landscape Contractors Association (ILCA) on July 15, 2019 to volunteer at Renewal & Remembrance, an annual day of service at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA.

This event was organized by the National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP) and marks the 23rd year that industry professionals have come together to help enhance the grounds of the national burial site, which serves as the final resting spot for more than 400,000 military service men and women and their spouses.

Over 400 professionals volunteered their time mulching, upgrading sprinklers, cabling and installing lightning protection for the trees. These volunteers helped to enhance more than 200 acres of vast grounds at the national cemetery.

Fisher also went with ILCA to Capitol Hill to meet with house representatives and senators, as he serves on ILCA’s Regulatory and Legislative Committee.

What a special and important service event to honor those that sacrificed their lives for our country.  GCG is proud of John’s participation and dedication to this remarkable organization!
