GCG’s Chris Strubel Goes “Over the Edge” for Cancer Research

GCG is proud to support its own Senior Wealth Management Advisor Chris Strubel, who participated in Cancer League of Colorado’s “Over the Edge” rappelling event to support cancer research over the weekend of September 17-19.

Chris and his sister, Michele, joined other “Over the Edge” participants in rappelling down the Denver Energy Center Towers, twin 33-story buildings in Downtown Denver, in an effort to raise money for Cancer League of Colorado. To qualify for the event, participants had to raise a minimum of $1000 in pledges to raise funds for Colorado-based cancer research.

With Cancer affecting so many families all over the world, including taking the lives of two of their beloved grandparents, Chris and Michele are extremely passionate in supporting the Cancer League. With support from friends, family and co-workers, Chris and Michele were able to help raise over $2,300 towards the campaign for cancer research.

“It’s only with the incredible support I have from so many amazing people that I was able to commit to this event and face my biggest fear (of heights),” Chris said. “A big thank you to everyone that supported us in our efforts and we hope some of you will join us in going ‘Over The Edge’ next year.”

Since 1985, Cancer League of Colorado’s mission has been to help the cure or control of cancer by raising funds to support cancer research and services in the state of Colorado. After 30 years of existence and with over 400 current volunteer members, Cancer League has donated over $15 million in grants towards cancer-related causes.
